Shepherd Valley Waldorf School located in Niwot, just east of Boulder, Colorado, offers a unique educational experience for children from pre-K to 8th grade that integrates art, academics and practical skill development along with outdoor activities on a spacious 38-acre campus. Our unique farm setting provides a "living laboratory" for a broad range of hands-on math, science, geography and history projects. Children are guided to cultivate self-knowledge and to meet the world by awakening within them warmth of heart, clarity of thought, and strength of purpose. 

 

2015/16 Administrative Director:  Shepherd Valley Waldorf School is an independent K-8 educational non-profit in Niwot, Colorado. The Administrative Director provides oversight to the school as a whole, and bears responsibility for the leadership, operations, and management of the school. The Administrative Director also works with assigned pedagogical leaders to carry out the school’s educational programs to a high standard of excellence, and with the administrative staff to support these programs.  Working together with the Board, the College of Teachers, Staff, and Parent Association, the Administrative Director works to establish full classes and a healthy, vibrant school community. 2015/16 First Grade Teacher:  Our dedicated faculty and staff will welcome a trained Waldorf teacher, who is interested in making a commitment to our school for eight years. We offer the traditional Waldorf curriculum, enriched by farming and land stewardship experience on our own farm, and with our animals, as well as in a CSA farm on our land. (more details)

2015 Summer - Early Childhood Morning Asisstant Teacher Our Early Childhood Summer Camp offers a welcoming, comfortable setting for our young campers to play indoors and out, to do crafts and to enjoy the warmth of sunny summer days.  We offer healthy snacks and a nurturing, playful environment. Job Summary: Assist an experienced lead teacher in a class of up to twenty children ages 3-7 year olds from 8am-1pm. Two sessions available: from July 6th through the 25th, and from July 27th through August 7th, 2015. Skills: Strong teaching skills, good teamwork, good communication with both children and their parents. Experience with Waldorf Education is a plus. (more details)

2015/16 Early Childhood Assistant Teacher  Our ideal assistant candidate has familiarity with and interest in Waldorf education, and experience working with young children. Primary Functions:  To help in creating an exceptional Waldorf Kindergarten experience for our mixed-age classroom.  The candidate will be expected to work cooperatively with the lead teacher to support the activities of the class, prepare snacks, care for the classroom and play-yard environment, and attend weekly early childhood and faculty meetings. Training required: All candidates must have “Early Childhood Teacher Qualification” per the State of Colorado requirements. (more details)

2015/16 Parent-Child Class Teacher Parents are searching for guidance on a broad range of parenting questions, so in addition to being knowledgeable about Waldorf Early Childhood recommendations for young parents, it is helpful to have some knowledge of other parenting styles, such as attachment parenting, etc. It is essential to be open to what will serve the families—not just the children—who attend class. Classes run from 9:30 to 11:30 Thursday and Friday mornings, and they follow the rhythm of a traditional Waldorf Early Childhood morning, albeit shortened. There is an assistant. Applicants must have Waldorf Early Childhood training. Attendance is expected at weekly Early Childhood and faculty meetings. In addition, the College of Teachers welcomes attendance by all teachers.
