Shepherd Valley Waldorf School located in Niwot, just east of Boulder, Colorado, offers a unique educational experience for children from pre-K to 8th grade that integrates art, academics and practical skill development along with outdoor activities on a spacious 38 acre campus. Our unique farm setting provides a "living laboratory" for a broad range of hands-on math, science, geography and history projects. Children are guided to cultivate self-knowledge and to meet the world by awakening within them warmth of heart, clarity of thought, and strength of purpose. 

 

2015/16 First Grade Teacher:  Our dedicated faculty and staff will welcome a trained Waldorf teacher, who is interested in making a commitment to our school for eight years. We offer the traditional Waldorf curriculum, enriched by farming and land stewardship experience on our own farm, and with our animals, as well as in a CSA farm on our land.

 

(Jan 2015) Choir Teacher Our Music Department seeks a candidate for Choir Teacher who will join our team in bringing rich and engaging music instruction to Shepherd Valley’s students. Primary Functions: The Choir Teacher will teach middle school and 5th grade choirs, developing vocal skills, sight singing skills, and choral repertoire in alignment with grade level curricula and Waldorf guidelines. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in classroom teaching, with good classroom management skills and an eagerness to collaborate with our music team as well as our other teachers. Middle school choir experience recommended. Piano skills are essential. Hours and Pay: This position is part-time, five 50-minute periods per week, including a weekly music department meeting. Base wage of $31.75 per hour, with an experience adder for each year of teaching in a Waldorf School. Farm Manager: Shepherd Valley Waldorf Schools owns 38 acres of farmland, of which 5 acres comprises our campus. We are committed to biodynamic farming techniques, and are seeking a part-time farm manager who would like to help us make the transition from organic to biodynamic. The farm manager must be able to welcome and interact with the school's students, who will be helpers on the farm.

 

Summer Camp Director: Shepherd Valley is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic director for its established summer camp, open to early childhood and grades children, as well as to the wider community. Shepherd Valley is located a few miles east of Boulder, CO, on 38 acres of farmland, with animals, that has been used happily for years as the location for its summer camps.
